THE HISTORY OF ZERO WASTE DESIGN IN FASHION is as old as the human need to cover bodies, our ancestors who lived in caves only gathered and hunted, they covered their bodies with all the skin of animals to warm their own bodies. Later on, when the first weaving techniques began to be developed, we see many peoples using fabrics entirely to cover their bodies, such as Greek tunics or Indian sari, African boubou, Japanese kimono and so on. These garments were passed down from “father to son” as a family tradition and also as a way of reusing the garment and its raw materials for as long as possible.

Can be considered a cultural practice and even a principle of life. Composed of the Buddhist word 'mottai', which refers to the essence of things, and the particle 'nai', which indicates negation in the Japanese language, this is a term used to convey the idea that the waste and/or misuse of objects and resources, such as food and water, is frowned upon. When something can still be used in some way, this expression is used.

The integral use of raw materials - which, after all forms of use in the original design have been exhausted, allows the raw materials to be reused. This sounds very relevant if we think of a planet in climate crisis and a fashion industry that is among the most polluting on the planet. However, in our case, using this technique is much more of a rescue than a trend. We want to invite you to a new experience of wearing T-shirts, where we use ancestral conditions of raw material utilization in the development of one of the most everyday pieces of human clothing today. And we call on the industry to adhere to a careful, rigorous and auditable form of production. We have thus created a cycle in which responsible production and consumption are expressed through design and technique.
