How we become a startup

Since the beginning of 2019, Fabiana Muranaka, CEO of no.wasTee, has been feeding genuine anguish in the quest to reduce waste disposal in t-shirt design. Within LaLuz Brasil, the social enterprise that is the mother of the solution, the designer performed tests on ergonomics and wearability of the modeling technique from squares and rectangles for the integral use of fabrics in the production of the pieces. 

The story gained a new page in 2020, during the postgraduate course in Modeling and Moulage for the Industry, when Fabiana began to develop more efficient processes by investigating operations in the fashion industries. 

However, it was only after the journey and award at the 2022 Ikea Foundation Green Concept Awards that the designer was challenged to transform the sustainable, Zero Waste concept into a highly scalable product. Thus, no.wastee was born. 

The no.wasTee was not just a concept of t-shirt. It was realized that it was not only a highly scalable product, but an innovation with the potential to transform the entire fashion industry towards sustainability. 

The truth? Until that moment, we had no idea that we were innovating. From then on, we understood that we represented more than a solution; we were a movement for a more conscious and sustainable fashion. 

Currently, no.wasTee is participating in the Senai/PR Habitat Industry Innovation Acceleration Program and recently launched the MVP of its software. The goal is to offer the fashion industry a true library of T-shirt mix in zero waste design, accompanied by a tool that ensures transparency throughout the operation. 

Behind this journey is a team made up of women, seeking to spread more sustainable fashion concepts.
